Printable Version Services Ahead of and During the Olympic/Paralympic Games
In the run-up to the Beijing Olympics and Paralympics, the Chinese Government is implementing a series of new regulations and shipment procedures. These measures include special regulations and policies on import and export shipments; tightened security inspections of shipments and, traffic control regulations in Beijing and other cities where Olympic events will be held.FedEx will comply with all applicable procedures/regulations to support the success of the Games. As a result of the tightened security inspections on inbound shipments, FedEx has extended the delivery time on shipments inbound to south China from European origins by one day. We regret any inconvenience this may cause to you. We would also like you to be aware that the delivery of inbound shipments that undergo a full inspection by customs may be extended further.
To ensure your shipments pass through customs as smoothly as possible, we advise you to do the following:
- Comply with all regulations and procedures required by the authorities;
- Prepare your shipment and documents in advance, and make sure that all the details on your shipping documents are accurate and valid; and,
- Ensure that you provide the correct name and a full description of the commodity or item you are shipping in your documents.
Please be assured that the delivery time extension is only a temporary measure that has been introduced in response to the tightened security inspections. We thank you for your understanding of the need for this change.
We will continue to monitor the situation and update you on new developments online.
