Australia & US Free Trade Agreement - Important Information for FedEx outbound customers shipping to U.S

As of Jan 1, 2005, eligible goods originating in Australia can enter the U.S. with preferential duty rates under the Australia & United States Free Trade Agreement (AUSFTA).

To facilitate customs clearance, FedEx exporters with eligible shipments will need to state any of the following statements on the commercial invoice for goods valued at AU$2,000 or more and on the air waybill as well if goods are under the value of AU$2,000:

  1. Goods qualify for AUSFTA.
  2. Goods are wholly of Australian origin
  3. Originating goods under AUSFTA
  4. Eligible for AUSFTA

FedEx will continue to monitor the status of the new provisions and take the necessary steps to keep your informed. We encourage you to regularly visit fedex.com/au for further updates.
