FedEx New Boeing 777 Freighters

Faster and Greener Connections To The World

2010 is the year we take a giant technological leap forward with the arrival of a new fleet of Boeing 777 Freighter (777F) planes to make our deliveries faster, cleaner and more efficient than ever.

Going into service from January 2010, the 777F will give our customers across the region a direct connection with our US superhub in Memphis, Tennessee, as well as providing customers in eastern China with a two-hour improvement in cut-off times in selected areas.

By April, four 777Fs will be serving routes between the Asia Pacific and the US, giving more customers the chance to enjoy the improved service the new plane will bring.

The 777F is the world's largest twin-engine cargo aircraft, with a cargo capacity of 178,000 pounds (81 metric tonnes) and 215,000 pounds on short-haul flights. It has a range of 5,800 nautical miles, or 6,675 land miles - nearly three times the distance between the east and west coasts of the US.

While delivering unparalleled connectivity and service to our customers, the 777F burns considerably less fuel, helping us towards our goal of cutting carbon dioxide emissions from our fleet by 20 per cent over the coming decade.

The new fleet is a bold investment that represents a vote of confidence in our future and our determination to remain the market leader. That’s why 2010 promises to be an exciting year of opportunity for employees and customers alike.
