A common cause of delays at customs is that the goods being shipped are not described fully or accurately on the International Air Waybill and Commercial Invoice. Please describe the actual type of goods being shipped in as much detail as possible to speed up your shipment through customs.

 

For example, many shipments of leather goods have been held in customs by the Hong Kong Customs & Excise Department because the description of ‘leather goods’ was too vague. The authorities would require more detail and a complete description of the type of leather, such as ‘Leather Handbag - Made from cowhide.’

 

Giving a full, detailed and accurate description of the goods being shipped helps Customs authorities to process your shipment without any delays.
