Printable Version Importing with FedEx: easy and reliable with fedex.com

Prepare your Air Waybill

  1. Enter the address and contact details of the shipper
Please ensure that the shipper is aware of and agrees to you preparing the Air Waybill and shipping information on his behalf.

  2. Enter information about the recipient
Store up to 2,000 recipients’ or shippers’ addresses in your fedex.com address book.

  3. Specify package details (service type, packaging, number of packages, weight and dimensions, value) and shipment date.
Your FedEx Air Waybill is valid for 8 days after you create it so you do not need to create another one if the shipment is not ready and cannot leave on the same day. You can even prepare Air Waybills 1 week in advance in case you need to schedule ahead.

  4. Specify billing details
From the drop-down list, select the party that will be paying the shipping cost and the duties and taxes.
Your account number will appear by default in the "Bill transportation to" field.
If you are also paying the duties and taxes, select "Recipient" but do not enter your account number again.

Please do not book a pickup at this stage by selecting "Schedule a pickup". Instead use one of the other two options "Drop off package at a FedEx location" or "Use an already scheduled pickup at my location" and book a pickup after you have prepared the shipment (see "Book a pickup" section).
