Printable Version FedEx earns top rankings in prestigious Fortune Magazine performance survey

FedEx has once again been named among the “World’s Most Admired Companies” by Fortune magazine and has been placed seventh on this year’s list after also earning a spot on Fortune’s
“100 Best Companies to Work For” in the US earlier this year.

This is the first year the magazine has consolidated the US and World’s Most Admired lists, and apart from being placed on the US Most Admired list in eight consecutive years we are proud to have been voted the top delivery company overall.

The new Most Admired list, produced by the Hays Group working in partnership with the magazine, is the definitive report card on corporate reputations. The latest survey started with an initial list of about 1,400 companies: these comprised the 1,000 largest US companies ranked by revenue, non-US companies listed in Fortune's Global 500 database with revenues of $10 billion or more, and other top foreign companies operating in the US. In total, 689 companies from 28 countries were finally surveyed in detail to arrive at the 100 top companies list, and during this process over 4,000 individual senior executives, directors and sector analysts were asked to rate companies against nine key indicators designed to measure overall performance.

The specific criteria covered innovation, people management, use of corporate assets, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment, quality of products/services and global competitiveness, and we are very proud to have been ranked first in eight of these categories in the transportation industry section of the survey.

FedEx has consistently been awarded high rankings in Fortune’s lists. Last year we were rated No 6 in the US and No 7 globally, we have also been recognised as one of Fortune’s Best Companies to Work For in eleven of the past twelve years, we were also voted into the Best Companies to Work For Hall of Fame in 2005, and our high ratings pay testament to our continuing commitment to providing the best possible service for our customers and our staff.
