Printable Version FedEx supports world class tennis at 2009 Roland-Garros Tournament

FedEx is delighted to continue its sponsorship of the prestigious French Open tournament, one of the highlights of the world tennis calendar, which this year commences on 24 May. Held at the historic Roland-Garros stadium with its famous red clay (terre battue) courts, the French Open is one of the most challenging of the four leading international tennis tournaments, and was the first Grand Slam to go open in the 1960s when amateurs and professionals were allowed to compete together for the first time.

As an Official Sponsor of the French Open since 2002 the FedEx brand appears on billboards and publicity material both before and during the two weeks of the tournament. FedEx is also the official and exclusive international carrier for all Roland-Garros products sold through the French Open website, so our sponsorship agreement allows us to reach a worldwide audience of many millions through TV, radio, newspaper and other media exposure generated by the tournament.

FedEx and the French Tennis Federation share and depend on similar key attributes. Both require speed, precision, anticipation and service at every level and at all times. Our continuing sponsorship of the French Open testifies to our corporate commitment to excellence and the highest possible standards of performance.
