FedEx Express Names Scott Williams Managing Director for Taiwan

Taipei, March 29, 2004 – FedEx Express, the world's largest express transportation company, today announced the appointment of Scott Williams to the position of Managing Director of Operations for FedEx Express in Taiwan. Williams will be responsible for planning, directing and overseeing FedEx's corporate strategies in Taiwan.

Williams replaces Jimmy Chen who is transferring to FedEx's Asia Pacific regional office in Hong Kong as Managing Director, Process Engineering. Assuming his new role, Chen will be in charge of end-to-end planning and engineering support to deliver superior solutions and customer experience.

Williams brings more than 20 years of international experience. Prior to this appointment, he was the Acting Managing Director of Japan Operations. He first joined FedEx in 1996 as Senior Financial Analyst responsible for West Japan and Korea and was further promoted to Senior Manager, Airport Operations at Kansai in 1997.

Williams holds a Master Degree in International Management from the American School of International Management (Thunderbird) and a Bachelor Degree in Finance from the University of Oregon. Williams is proficient in both English and Japanese.
