FedEx Named Among 10 Best Employers in Canada

Federal Express Canada Ltd. is very proud to be named as one of the top 10 Best Employers in Canada for 2012. This achievement marks the highest ranking ever for Federal Express Canada and is the highest ranking of any company in the shipping and logistics industry.

This year, Federal Express Canada Ltd. placed number 10, up 14 places from last year. This is the 8th time it has been named to the top 50 Best Employers list in the past 11 years and the third time it has been ranked among the top 25 companies. Being named to the list is a significant achievement, and FedEx is particularly pleased with its results given that employee feedback determines inclusion on the list, as well as a company's ranking.

The study, conducted by Aon Hewitt, a leading global human resources outsourcing and consulting firm, surveyed employees and leaders from 261 participating companies. Organizations are selected as Best Employers based primarily on survey responses from employees at these organizations that gauge their level of engagement.

This designation is the latest of national and international rankings celebrating FedEx as an employer of choice. Earlier this year, Federal Express Canada won a Platinum Certification from the Contact Center Employer of Choice, and Fortune magazine named FedEx the eighth most-admired company in the world.

Ensuring that FedEx is a great place to work is a collaborative effort between management and employees. Throughout the year, FedEx employees participate in focus groups, surveys, quality action teams and other forums to provide their input and ideas on how to improve FedEx employee programs, its products and services and the ability to deliver outstanding customer service to each FedEx customer.

About the 50 Best Employers in Canada List
To be eligible for the 50 Best Employers in Canada list, organizations must have operated in Canada for at least three years and have at least 400 permanent employees. Participating organizations must complete three surveys: an employee opinion survey filled out by a minimum number of employees determined by their organization's size; a survey of senior leaders that measures how closely their goals and fundamental values are aligned with those of their staff; and a detailed set of questions for the human resources department on Human Resources policies and practices. The employee survey results are the primary contributing factor in determining an employer's ranking.
