FedEx Express® and FedEx Ground® Service Restrictions

FedEx will continue with normal operations during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games, except at specific Olympic venues where security measures may impact service levels, and in some cases, restrict access to and from those venues.

View a list of the Olympic venue areas to which access will be restricted.

You can find out more about the Olympic venues and the most current information regarding the dates and details of access restrictions by visiting Vancouver2010.com, or by going directly to the Vancouver 2010 Delivering Goods and Services during the Games web page.

Restrictions may begin as early as mid-January and run as late as mid-March, so it’s important to plan ahead.

The FedEx Money-Back Guarantee will not apply to packages that are delayed due to added security measures or road closures, or require a change of address for delivery.

What happens if I am unable to notify my shippers in advance?
If you expect to receive FedEx deliveries but are unable to notify your shippers in advance, you can provide FedEx with alternate delivery instructions at least 24 hours in advance of the package delivery date.

You can let FedEx know what your alternate delivery instructions are by using our Alternate Delivery Address Form. The alternate delivery address information will only be applied on those days that access is restricted to the Olympic venue areas.
What if I don’t know that I’m going to receive a delivery and do not notify FedEx of an alternate delivery address?
On the day the package arrives at the destination facility, FedEx will place the package in hold for pick-up status at the destination FedEx Express or FedEx Ground facility. A FedEx representative will contact you to let you know the package is available for pick-up.

You will also be provided with the option to request delivery to an alternate address outside the restricted venue area. If an alternate delivery address is requested at this time, an extra day may be required for delivery and an additional charge may be charged to the shipment payor.
