Seoul, Korea, March 29, 2001 - The Korean branch of the global express delivery service, FedEx, offered traditional Korean "sacrifices" to commemorate the opening of the Incheon International Airport and the FedEx office's move to the new airport at the cargo wing of the airport at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 29.
The event was held at the FedEx parking dock on the first floor in Building C of the cargo wing at the new airport. David Ross, Vice President, North Pacific Region and Charles Arena, Managing Director, Korea attended wearing traditional Korean clothes and prayed for good business and improved customer services.
Charles Arena, Managing Director, Korea explained the intention of the event saying, "We moved our state-of-the-art automated cargo classification system to the cargo wing of the new airport to provide prompt and smooth delivery services to Korean customers. We also carried out traditional Korean "sacrifices" to be born again as a company that truly understands Korean customers and to pray for good business and improved customer services."
With the opening of the Incheon International Airport, FedEx moved its Gimpo Airport office to the new airport and established a state-of-the-art automated cargo classification system in the cargo wing. "The 6K Sort System" can process 6000 items in 1 hour. This is the second largest FedEx capacity in Asia.
