FedEx sponsors Walt Disney's "A Bug's Life" charity premiere

FedEx donates HK$500,000 to support Po Leung Kuk

HONG KONG, December 8, 1998 - Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), the world's largest air express transportation company, is proud to be the title sponsor of the US top box office movie "A Bug's Life" charity premiere. The sponsorship includes a donation of HK$500,000 by FedEx to the local charity Po Leung Kuk.

At a special ceremony held on premiere night (December 7), a check for HK$500,000 was presented by Mr Michael L. Ducker, President of FedEx, Asia Pacific Region to Mr Rafael Hui, GBS, JP, Secretary for Financial Services, who received the proceeds on behalf of Po Leung Kuk.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Ducker said, "In the past, FedEx employees have helped the children of Po Leung Kuk celebrate Christmas by hosting parties and donating gifts. We welcome this opportunity to contribute further this season."

"A Bug's Life" is a hilarious film with colorful and courageous characters who band together to rise to and conquer unusual challenges. Using cutting-edge technology, this film has already generated over US$354 million in worldwide box office takings.

The charity premiere received an overwhelming response with more than 1,000 participants. About fifty children from Po Leung Kuk were also invited to join in the excitement of the premiere.
