FedEx Gears Up for Three-Year Sponsorship Deal with BMW WilliamsF1 Team

BRUSSELS, Belgium (January 25th 2002) - Federal Express Corp. ("FedEx Express"), the world's largest express transportation company, today announced an exciting 3-year sponsorship deal with the BMW WilliamsF1 Team. The distinctive FedEx logo will be prominently displayed on the front wing of the new FW24 car and emblazoned on the race suits and helmets of drivers, Ralf Schumacher and Juan Pablo Montoya.

Following the signing of the agreement, FedEx President Europe, Middle East & Africa, Robert W. Elliott commented: "We are absolutely delighted to be associated with BMW WilliamsF1 Team, a team that will be challenging for the World Championship title in 2002. It is no coincidence that we are joining a team that has clearly demonstrated a "Whatever it takes" winning attitude and dedication to excellence."

Mr Elliott added: "FedEx has been involved with Formula One for five years now and with an average worldwide audience of 350 million viewers per race, it has proven itself to be an excellent platform to promote the FedEx brand. The sport closely reflects our core values of speed, reliability, technology and teamwork, hence directly supporting our brand positioning."

The stunning new FW24 car, complete with FedEx logos, was unveiled today at Silverstone, the historic home of Formula 1. BMW WilliamsF1 Team drivers' Ralf Schumacher and Juan Pablo Montoya were eager to put the new car to the test in front of the world's press.
