FedEx to serve the needs of 20,000 delegates from over 120 countries.
FedEx contributes $20,000 to Foundation of Rotary Clubs in Singapore
SINGAPORE, June 1, 1999 - Federal Express Corporation (FedEx),
the world's largest express transportation company, is the provider
of air express services for the 90th Annual Rotary Convention, expected
to bring over 20,000 delegates to Singapore from 12-16 June.
"FedEx is pleased to be chosen as one of the sponsors for the event
and we look forward to meeting the express transportation needs
of the thousands of delegates from all corners of the globe," said
Malcolm Sullivan, Managing Director for FedEx Marketing, South Pacific.
"We welcome the world to Singapore and will play our part to make
sure this major event is both a success for both Rotary International
and Singapore. Since FedEx operates in over 200 countries, we're
uniquely capable of doing that," said Mr Sullivan.
In line with its ongoing commitment to supporting humanitarian
causes, FedEx has contributed $20,000 to the Foundation of Rotary
Clubs in Singapore - a fund set up by Rotary for community service
activities. "This partnership is a good fit between FedEx and Rotary's
objectives. Both organizations share a strong sense of social responsibility
and commitment to serving the society. Over the years, FedEx too
has been involved in numerous community projects on a corporate
level in Asia and we are proud to be able to support the community
efforts of Rotary through this donation", said Mr. Sullivan.
As delegates from over 120 counties prepare to converge in Singapore
for this prestigious event, FedEx is gearing up for a deluge of
package deliveries all over the world. Extra drop off booths will
be located at Suntec City Convention Centre. FedEx will also work
with delegates' hotels to provide easy delivery of conference materials
back to their homelands.
