Press Releases
TOKYO, July 23, 1999 - Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) announced
today the launch of its new Japanese TV commercial on July 24, 1999.
The new commercial has been designed to communicate 'speed and reliability'
- the core strengths of FedEx service - to its current customers
and prospects.
In the new commercial FedEx's unmatched capability in managing
the overall flow of a shipment from origin through to destination
has been highlighted, thus underscoring the value-added reliability
of the company's delivery service.
"Our reliability is the message we would most like to communicate
through this TV commercial," said David J. Ross, Vice President
of North Pacific Region. "I believe that our customers will not
only enjoy watching it but also feel confident about the high level
of our service."
Compared to conventional domestic transportation services, international
door-to-door express transportation service is relatively new to
the Japan market. Therefore, FedEx also intends to communicate benefits
of express transportation by illustrating its own well-managed handling
procedure.
Named 'Tracking Version,' the TV commercial features a businessman,
who physically travels along with his shipment. He comes to realize
how carefully and professionally his shipment is being handled as
it passes through FedEx ground and air operations. As a result,
he is completely reassured that FedEx can be relied upon to deliver
his shipments.
