Embodying FedEx's "We Live to Deliver" spirit
TAIPEI, November 19, 1999 - Federal Express Corp. (FedEx), the
world's largest express transportation company, recently presented
the "True Heart Ambassador" awards to its top ten couriers as voted
by FedEx customers at a ceremony held at FedEx Taiwan's headquarters
in Taipei.
Starting September 1, 1999, each FedEx customer was invited to
nominate three FedEx couriers as the "True Heart Ambassador" based
on a number of key service criteria, including couriers' friendliness,
courtesy and helpfulness. The voting lasted for a month. About 200
couriers from all eight FedEx service centers participated in this
campaign and more than 12,000 votes were received. The couriers
with the highest votes were selected. Jimmy Chen, Managing Director
of FedEx Taiwan, recently presented the "True Heart Ambassador"
award to the top ten couriers. Other prizes include a gold "True
Heart" medal and trophy.
"The idea is to motivate our couriers to not only demonstrate an
unwavering commitment to delivering packages to our customers, but
also a sincere, friendly attitude in their day-to-day contact with
customers," said Mr. Chen.
"FedEx customers' active participation was the key to the success
of this campaign. This demonstrates their recognition and valuation
of the high quality service provided by FedEx. It also encourages
FedEx couriers to continue providing customers with the high quality
service they expect from us," remarked Mr. Chen.
"Our unique and trustworthy couriers represent our endless commitment
to providing time-definite and reliable express transportation service.
The person-to-person aspect of our business is something very special
and we are very proud that our couriers, in representing FedEx Taiwan,
have become the faces that customers have grown to know and trust,"
said Eddy Chan, Regional Vice President of FedEx China and Mid-Pacific
Region.
