Successful customer service campaign receives more than 3,200 votes
HONG KONG, February 23, 2000 - Federal Express Corporation (FedEx),
the world's largest express transportation company, today announced
its top ten "True Heart Ambassadors" - an award recognizing FedEx
couriers for their outstanding service to customers in Hong Kong.
The ten winning couriers received their awards at a presentation
ceremony held recently at FedEx Hong Kong's headquarters.
"The objective of the campaign is to further motivate our couriers
who not only demonstrate total commitment to delivering packages
to our customers, but also display a sincere and friendly attitude
during their day-to-day interactions with our valued customers,"
said Wilson Chung, Managing Director of FedEx Hong Kong and Macau,
at the presentation ceremony.
During the one-month campaign at the end of last year, FedEx customers
were invited to cast their votes on a total of 272 couriers according
to their helpfulness and courtesy. The campaign received significant
customers' support and more than 3,200 votes were collected.
"FedEx customers' active participation was the key to the success
of this campaign. The high response rate demonstrates their recognition
of and value for the high quality service provided by FedEx. It
also encourages our couriers to continue FedEx's "We Live to Deliver"
spirit and to provide customers with the high quality service they
expect from us," added Chung.
"Our dedicated and trustworthy couriers represent FedEx's commitment
to providing fast, reliable and time-definite express transportation
service. The person-to-person aspect of our business is something
very special and we are very proud that our couriers have become
the faces that customers have grown to know and trust," remarked
Eddy Chan, Regional Vice President for China and Mid Pacific region,
at the presentation ceremony.
Wong Kai Lap, who serves customers in Tsim Sha Tsui district, came
out as the top "True Heart Ambassador" with 119 votes. Having worked
for FedEx for more than nine years, Wong has succeeded in accumulating
a wealth of experience and honing his customer servicing skills.
As the top "True Heart Ambassador", Wong won an award certificate
and a four-day holiday package for two to Thailand. "The award is
not only a recognition of the enthusiasm and hard work that I share
with all my fellow FedEx ambassadors, but also a personal achievement
that I am really proud of. I will continue the 'true heart' spirit
and provide customers with the best service," said Wong on receiving
his prizes.
