KUALA LUMPUR, April 13, 2000 - Federal Express Corp. (FedEx), the
world's largest express transportation company, today announced
the appointment of Mr. Ramesh Kumar to the position of Managing
Director of Malaysia, effective immediately.
Based in Kuala Lumpur, Mr. Kumar is responsible for managing the
entire Malaysian operations. In his capacity, Mr. Kumar oversees
the development and implementation of strategies to enhance service
to FedEx customers and reinforce FedEx's leadership in the local
market.
Mr. Kumar first joined FedEx in 1994 as a Training Specialist.
In 1997, he was promoted to Station Manager. Prior to his current
appointment, Mr. Kumar served as Senior Operations Manager in Kuala
Lumpur. In his six years at FedEx, Mr. Kumar has initiated several
major projects aimed at improving local services to customers including
improving onward communications for couriers to facilitate faster
pick-ups and deliveries, the introduction of mini-agents for secondary
states in Malaysia and the implementation of expansion plans in
Malaysia.
