SINGAPORE, June 17, 1999 - Federal Express Corp. (FedEx), the world's
largest express transportation company, today announced the appointment
of Rhicke S. Jennings to the position of Managing Director of Singapore
and Thailand operations, effective immediately.
In his new capacity, Mr. Jennings is responsible for managing the
operations of Singapore and Thailand, which includes developing
and implementing customer-driven strategies in the two countries,
to further FedEx's leadership position as the premier express carrier
in the region.
"We will continue to focus on developing supply chain solutions
for our customers in Singapore and Thailand, particularly with increased
globalization, digitization and deregulation," said Mr. Jennings.
"In addition, we are committed to enhance our speed and reliability
through continuous quality enhancements and customer feedback processes."
Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Jennings was Managing Director
of FedEx's Southeast Asia operations. He has accumulated six years
of experience working in Asia where he started at FedEx as the regional
Finance Manager, with assignments in North Pacific, based in Tokyo
and the South Pacific, based in Singapore.
Mr. Jennings was then promoted to Managing Director, Financial
Planning, for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, based in Brussels,
Belgium, with responsibility for the financial planning of the division's
108 countries. Mr. Jennings joined FedEx in 1991 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Mr. Jennings holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration
from Chaminade University in Honolulu. In 1983, he obtained an MBA
from the same university. Mr. Jennings is also a graduate of the
International School of Bangkok, graduating in 1973.
