fedex.com Judged Best Transportation Site
Taipei, December 17, 2001 -FedEx Express. (NYSE: FDX) has added two
major accomplishments to its long list of industry leadership milestones
in the e-business arena. For the second consecutive year FedEx has
won the Best Transportation Web Site award in the Web Marketing
Association's 2001 WebAwards, in addition to winning Best Portal
Web Site and Standard of Excellence honors. Also, eWeek ranks FedEx
No. 2 in its annual list of leading e-business innovators, just
behind General Electric, in its recently published FastTrack 500.
"This top-tier recognition strongly reaffirms the ease, convenience
and value FedEx e-services provide to global customers," said Laurie
A. Tucker, senior vice president of Global Product Marketing at

services that help customers access, manage and secure transportation
services. We are proud of the team of professionals that continues

WebAwards
The Best Transportation Web Site award from the Web Marketing Association
honors fedex.com as the top site in the industry in head-to-head
competition against other transportation companies. FedEx also is
the only company to receive the Best Portal award for its My FedEx.com
portal application. Launched last June, My FedEx.com allows customers
to customize their fedex.com home page to make FedEx transactions,
such as tracking the status of a package, faster and easier. My
FedEx.com has about 210,000 registered users.
Judges for this year's WebAwards noted FedEx industry leadership
in "interactive development" and pointed out that My FedEx.com "continues
that trend."
WebAwards' Standard of Excellence award for FedEx Global Trade
Manager in the international Web site category marks the second
year in a row that FedEx has been recognized for this free service
on fedex.com. FedEx Global Trade Manager helps small and medium-size
businesses navigate the world of international commerce by allowing
shippers to identify and prepare appropriate import/export forms.

that is designed to judge corporate Web sites against an Internet
standard and peer sites within respective industries. The awards
recognize individual and team achievement of Web professionals who
create and maintain outstanding corporate Web sites. More than 800
sites were judged in this year's competition.
FedEx has received several prestigious industry awards during the
last several years for Web site speed, content, ease-of-use and
overall functionality for users. Keynote, an Internet Performance
Authority, says fedex.com is consistently one of the world's fastest
Web sites.
The Keynote Business 40 Internet Performance Index measures the
average response time to access and download the home pages of 40
important business Web sites. FedEx.com, which downloads in about
one-half second, has been one of the top-five performers during
the past year and a top-performer for the past 32 consecutive weeks.
