Printable Version Tightened Security Checks on Express Shipments to and from Shanghai during the Expo

The Chinese and Shanghai governments are tightening security procedures for express shipments to and from Shanghai. Based on the related regulations, all the express shipments to and from Shanghai require the shipper to show the courier his/her ID card upon delivery and Open-box inspections by the courier are required.
 

To ensure your packages to and from Shanghai arrive at their destinations on time, your cooperation regarding the following will be appreciated:

  • Please show your ID card when the courier is picking up your packages
  • Please cooperate with couriers in the Open-box inspections
  • Drop off customers need to provide the account owner’s authorized letter and cooperate with the Open-box inspections as well as the ID number registration
  • All shipments of powders, liquids and chemicals* should be provided with non-DG certificates issued by authorized Chemical Analyzing Institutes. The FedEx-designed guarantee letter template should be used for customer filling & endorsement. Please provide the necessary information about the package, including commodity description and manufacturer of the commodity. If the shipper is not the producer or check requestor on the Non-DG certificate, the shipper should also provide a guarantee letter ensuring the descriptions on the Non-DG certificate is in accordance with the shipment.
  • Please provide complete commodity information on consignment note

To ensure your shipments pass through Customs smoothly, please closely follow the regular import and export processes. FedEx will strive to ensure your shipments arrive at their destination safely and on time.

 

* Delay may be caused on shipments of powders, liquids, chemicals and shipments within the Expo control area due to the strengthening of security check.
