Service Changes for Restricted Olympic Areas within Beijing

In order to ensure the success of the Olympic Games and the Paralympics, the Beijing Municipal Government has implemented a series of traffic control measures around the core Olympic areas in Beijing. (For more details, please go to the Web site of the Beijing Traffic Management Bureau at: www.bjjtgl.gov.cn/ayzxq/index.html).

While the regulations on restricted areas are in force customers located within these areas will have to pick up or drop off their Domestic Time-definite shipments at one of the locations listed below. Please call the station/store in advance to confirm the arrangement.

Notes to customers when picking up and dropping off at FedEx locations

Dropping off shipments

  • Together with the package, please ensure you provide the original valid ID document of the shipper, the completed Consignment Note, and other relevant documents
  • Customers with a valid FedEx Account Number must also present an authorization letter issued by the account owner and stamped with a valid company chop
  • To ensure the timely delivery of your shipment, please provide valid contact numbers for both the shipper and the consignee

Picking up shipments

  • We will inform you of the pick-up location by phone. We therefore ask you to inform your shipper to include your contact number (preferably a mobile phone number) on the Consignment Note
  • You can choose to change the delivery address to a location outside the restricted areas
  • The person picking up the shipment is required to present a valid ID document. (If that person is not the consignee, he/she must present his/her own ID and that of the consignee.)
  • If the consignee is not an individual, an official authorization letter issued by the consignee and stamped with a valid company chop must be presented to receive the shipment
