Help Options


Help Menu

  • Click the Help menu at the top of each page to access the following tools:
  • Help with this page – Includes FAQs, specific instructions and additional information for the sections and processes you see on the screen.
  • Online Technical Support –Gives you the opportunity to Find Answers Online, chat online with a FedEx Technical Support Agent or Submit a Question.
  • Interactive Help Guide –Offers a demo, the ability to practice using our applications, assistance during actual transactions, a printable User Guide and “What’s New” information.

Contact FedEx

Refer to FedEx Customer Support for ways to contact FedEx via e-mail, mail, or phone.

To Create or Edit Address


  1. Please provide the required and the optional address information.
  2. For detailed help with this screen, select from the list below or click Help at the top of each section:

Contact Information

Please enter or edit the required contact information.
  • You can also enter optional information, such as the contact’s department, title and e-mail address.
  • Note: The Contact ID is a unique identifier, such as a nickname or customer number. When you select a Contact ID while creating a shipment, the information automatically populates the address information saved in the contact’s profile.

This is a Residence (U.S. only)

Select this option to identify the address as a residence instead of a business address.
  • A residential address is a home or private residence, including locations where a business is operated from the home.
  • There is a charge for delivery to a residence. Please refer to the FedEx Service Guide at fedex.com for more information on residential delivery surcharges.

Skip Automatic Address Checking

  • Select this option if you chose an Automatic Address Checking preference on the Customize screen.
  • Address checking is not supported by all countries at this time. Please review FedEx® Address Checker for more information.

Address Type

  • Select the address type from the Save As options.
  • If you select both Recipient and Sender, the contact will be saved as a recipient and as a sender.
  • If you do not select an address type, the contact will be saved as a Recipient.

Add Address to a Group

  • Select the Group from the Add To drop-down menu.

Shipping Specific


When creating a shipment for a Recipient, you can change both the default information and options (this is optional).

Service Type

  • Select the FedEx® service you use most often from the drop-down menu.
  • Please refer to the FedEx Service Guide at fedex.com for detailed information on FedEx services and delivery commitments.

Package Type

  • Select the Package Type you use most often from the drop-down menu.
  • Please refer to the FedEx Service Guide at fedex.com for detailed information on FedEx packaging

Currency

  • Select the form of currency you use most often from the drop-down menu.
  • The currency type is generally the same as your origin country.

Your Reference

Please enter your default reference information (such as a customer number) in the Your Reference field.

Recipient Tax ID

  • If FedEx acts as your EEI/SED (Electronic Export Information/Shipper's Export Declaration /Electronic Export Information) filing agent for international shipments to this recipient, please enter the Recipient Tax ID number.

Billing Details


When creating a shipment for a recipient, you can change the default options (this is optional).

Bill Transportation to

  1. Select the account most often billed from the drop-down menu.
  2. If you select Recipient or Third Party, please enter the 9-digit FedEx Account Number to bill.
  3. If you select Sender, the Account No. field is automatically populated.

Bill Duties/Taxes/Fees to

  1. Select the account most often billed for duties, taxes and fees for an international shipment from the drop-down menu.
  2. If you select Recipient or Third Party, please enter the 9-digit FedEx Account Number to bill.
  3. If you select Sender, the Account No. field is automatically populated.

Pickup/Drop-off


When creating a shipment for a recipient, you can change the default options (this is optional).

Schedule a Pickup

  • Select this option if you do not have a regular scheduled pickup at your location and want to be able to schedule on-call pickups.

Drop Off a Package at a FedEx Location

  • Select this option if you usually drop off your package at a FedEx location.

Use an Already Scheduled Pickup at My Location

  • Select this option to use pickup information from previous on-call pickup requests.
  • You can also edit the pickup address and package details while creating a shipment.

E-mail Notifications


When creating a shipment for this recipient, you can change the default information and options (this is optional).
  1. First, enter the E-mail Address and select the E-mail Language from the drop-down menu.
  2. Next, select the notification types to send:
    • Ship notifications indicate that the package has been shipped.
    • Pickup notifications indicate that the package has been picked up. This is available when you have scheduled a pickup.
    • Exception notifications indicate any exceptions that may cause a delivery delay.
    • Delivery notifications indicate that the package has been delivered.

Complete Your Entry


Create a Shipment Profile

  1. Select this option to save the information as a Shipment Profile for use in future shipments.
  2. Click Save.
  3. Please review Shipment Profiles for more information.

Save the Address Information

  1. Click Save when you have finished entering or editing the address information.
  2. The address will be saved in your Address Book and you will be returned to the Addresses screen.
    • Shipping Administration users: The address is saved to the Address Book you selected from the Addresses tab (Personal, Shared, or Central).

Cancel the Address Information

  • Click Cancel to discard any information entered or edited. You will be returned to the Addresses screen.

Any conflict between this information and the Automation Agreement, or transportation agreement between you and FedEx, or between this information and the FedEx Service Guide will be governed by the Automation Agreement, the transportation agreement and the FedEx Service Guide, in that order. Your use of this information constitutes your agreement to these terms.
