Allan Blakeley, Director of Supply Chain Services UK for FedEx UK, will set out on a 463 mile walk via 15 FedEx stations over 21 days to raise more than £50,000 for learning disability charity Mencap. The charity is close to Allan’s heart as his son Kieran has autistic tendencies and learning disabilities. Starting on 5 September 2009, the walk is taking Allan from Newcastle – upon – Tyne to Launceston requiring on average 22 miles to be covered per day.

Allan wants to give something back to a charity which is very close to his heart.

FedEx UK fully supports Allan and wishes him good luck with his walk. All FedEx team members have the opportunity to join Allan for part of his walk when he reaches their station. The distances one can walk range from 11 to 26 miles and will take supporters onto the next FedEx station.
