Printable Version Electric-Hybrid Vans for Europe

FedEx is to introduce 10 hybrid-electric/diesel vehicles to its European fleet.  The vans have better fuel efficiency and lower emissions.

This will bring the total number of hybrid vehicles that FedEx has in service in North America, Asia and now Europe to over 100, the largest global fleet of hybrid vehicles in the express delivery industry.

The Daily Hybrid van is manufactured by Iveco and will initially be trialed close to the manufacturer’s site in Turin, Italy before joining the FedEx fleet across Europe.

The Daily Hybrid has the autonomy and fuel efficiency of a diesel vehicle, combined with the option of zero-emission levels of the electric engine.  FedEx expects these hybrid-electric vehicles to deliver increased fuel efficiency and lower emissions, making them ideal for city and urban environments.

Effective environmental management is a top priority for FedEx.  We are committed to implementing and helping develop new, cost-effective green technologies that provide customers with a real alternative in today’s market.
