We’ve just delivered safe and sound a North American otter pup to a safe sanctuary in Colorado, 1,860 miles away from where he was found at a petrol station in Florida. He’s now joined two other long-term otter residents, Emmett and Slater, in a special enclosure at the Downtown Aquarium in Denver.
Oliver had a really eventful journey to Colorado because he and his handler had to break their journey in Memphis for an unexpected stopover after a blizzard suddenly shut down Denver International Airport. But the young otter enjoyed star treatment while overnighting at the FedEx World Hub, having his own pool, a shrimp and salmon dinner courtesy of a local restaurant, and a great deal of special attention from our pilots.
As one of the world’s largest international shipping companies FedEx is particularly well equipped to provide all the necessary resources and expertise to safely transport shipments requiring special care and attention. Our FedEx Cares shipment which carried Oliver to his new, safer home was a very good example of our ‘Delivering for Good’ initiative which takes advantage of the FedEx global network to make important connections between communities.
Take a look at the video which shows Oliver happily acclimatising to his new home.
