I have always been into making things and learning new skills. One day, I found myself watching a youtube video about knife making. I was instantly hooked and wanted to give it a go. I started making knives and couldn't stop; I loved it. After a year of making, I set up Blok Knives. There are now 4 of us making these one of kitchen utensils. We have a 2 year waiting list and sell our knives all over the world. Our clients range from Jamie Oliver to home cooks who appreciate quality knives.
How would you use the FedEx Small Business Grant UK money to make a significant impact on your business?
We are launching a new range of kitchen knives. These are called 'Blok Sheffield'. They are being made for us by a master knife making factory in Sheffield.. [steel city]. Currently the only way to get a knife from us is direct through our website. We will be pushing the Sheffield range out into independent cook shops across the globe. Along side these knives we are launching a clothing range to help promote the brand. We would use this money for Job creation, marketing and initial orders.
