Euro Currency Conversion

Dear FedEx Customer,

Notice to all Europe Shippers on Customs Clearance:
Official Launch of Euro (EUR) in Jan 1, 2002

Effective January 1, 2002, the new single currency Euro (EUR) will be used for customs clearance, replacing the existing national currencies in the twelve European countries participating in the common currency. As of December 2001, participating countries are Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain.

For shipments destined to the above countries, FedEx customers are kindly advised to use Euro (EUR), US Dollar or local currency of exporting country as the currency for declared value for carriage and customs on shipping documents (such as air waybill and commercial invoice). Using national currencies such as French franc or German mark beyond January 1, 2002 may cause possible delay in the customs clearance processing at Europe side.

If you have any questions, please contact FedEx Customer Service in your country.

We appreciate your continued business with FedEx.

Yours faithfully,

Federal Express
