Hong Kong Customs Implements Road Cargo System
On May 17, 2010, Hong Kong Customs launched a new Road Cargo System (ROCARS). This requires the electronic submission of cargo information through ROCARS for all imports and exports crossing the Hong Kong land border before shipments arrive at the border. A Customs Cargo Reference Number (CCRN) will be issued by Customs for each shipment. Customers may use the CCRN for trade declaration purposes, when required.
The arrangement will become mandatory on November 17, 2011 after an 18-month transitional period. And FedEx is ready to support its customers by submitting the necessary information to the system. For more information, customers may contact our Customer Service team.
