Indonesia: New Customs Surcharge Affecting Imports

Please be informed that effective 01 May 2004, Indonesian Customs will apply an additional surcharge for any shipment entering Indonesia under the following clearance types:

Formal Entry Clearance (applied for shipments with customs value of US$ 5000 and above or weigh 100 kg and above)	IDR 100.000,00 or approximately US$ 11.50* per entry or per import declaration
Free Trade Zone shipments (shipments addressed to consignees with Duty Free Facility)	IDR 30.000,00 or approximately US$ 3.50* per entry or per declaration
