February 20, 2006 Regulatory Update for Exporting Textiles to European Union
Effective March 15, 2006, Export Notification or Export License is required for shipping textile products to European Union*.
The following table outlines the license requirement for exporting textile products to European Union.

In addition, Certificate of Origin (CO) may be required depending on the types of textile product you are exporting.
- CO is required for textile product categories listed in the below link:

Customers shipping goods in the above categories are reminded to provide the corresponding CO number in their EN I or Export License Application.
- CO is NOT required for textile product categories are listed in the below link:

- For exporting textile product categories not listed in the above links, please declare the origin on the commercial invoice.

*European Union countries include:
Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, the Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
