Free Declaration Service for your Export/Import Shipments
According to Import and Export (Registration) Regulations in Hong Kong, shippers are required to lodge a declaration for any export or import shipment. Any person who knowingly lodges an incomplete or inaccurate declaration may be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine.
FedEx offers a free declaration service to customers for their imported textile shipments and certain eligible export shipments. For customers to enjoy the free declaration service offered by FedEx, the following details are required in the air waybill and commercial invoice:
- Full description of each item including proper/ formal name, usage/ function, and material
- Full description of each textiles item including gender, percentage composition of fibers, construction of textiles and type of garment for imported textile shipments
- Harmonized System Code (HS Code) for each item
- Country of origin
- Quantity and unit of measurement, e.g. 2 pieces, 3 kg
- Value of each item
For shipments with multiple items, the above information must be specified for each item individually.
