FedEx maintains Best Employer status for second consecutive survey
SINGAPORE, 17 April, 2003: FedEx Express (FedEx), the world's largest express transportation company has been honoured as one of Singapore's top-three best employers.
FedEx has been named 3rd among a list of distinguished companies in Singapore at the Best Employers In Asia Awards, organised by Hewitt Associates. It is the second consecutive top-ten honor for FedEx at the awards, having been named 6th in the previous survey held in 2001.
The Best Employers In Asia Awards are the result of an nation-wide survey of employees that examined people management practices in many of the nation's leading organizations, including FedEx.
Mr Clifton Chua, Managing Director, FedEx Singapore and Indonesia, paid tribute to his staff of 800, and said he was proud and honoured that they recognised FedEx as one of Singapore's best employers.
"At FedEx we believe that our people are the heart and soul of our company, without whom we could not deliver to our customers the outstanding service for which we are renown," Mr Chua said.
"The fundamental FedEx philosophy is to put our employees first and equip them with the working environment that allows them to grow as FedEx employees and individuals."
"By nurturing such a positive and progressive working environment, I know that FedEx employees here in Singapore are in turn delivering the very best service to our customers," he said.
