FedEx Offers Competitive Express Shipment Discount to SMES

Enhancing their competitive edges to overcome challenges posed by SARS

HONG KONG, May 22, 2003 - FedEx Express (FedEx), the world’s largest express transportation company, today announced that it will offer its small-and-medium-sized (SME) customers in Hong Kong as much as a 40 per cent discount off its list price on shipments to support the Hong Kong Trade Development Council’s "Powering SMEs" campaign, which is designed to help local SMEs to combat challenges posed by the outbreak of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).

As a continued effort to assist local businesses in reaching new markets and opportunities, especially amid the current difficult economic situation, FedEx will offer discount privileges to its new customers who open a corporate account with the company* before June 30, 2003:

  • For the first three months after opening the account, companies will enjoy an immediate 20% saving on shipments of all shapes and sizes to any destinations within FedEx's unparalleled global network.

  • New customers will also enjoy an additional, automatic 20 per cent discount by using FedEx Ship Manager®, which is the world’s first Internet-based shipping application which enable customers to arrange shipments online through www.fedex.com.
