Becoming a category-exclusive partner of "IBS" Account
HONG KONG, September 29, 2003 - FedEx Express (FedEx), the world's largest express transportation company, today announced that it will start offering an exclusive year-long discount to Hang Seng "Integrated Business Solutions" Account ("IBS" Account) customers as a category-exclusive partner.
From today until September 30, 2004, Hang Seng Bank "IBS" Account customers can enroll in FedEx's Value Rates Program to enjoy up to 45%-off express shipments. In addition, from today until December 31, 2004, the first 100 new Hang Seng Bank "IBS" Account customers that enroll in FedEx's Value Rates Program will receive HK$500 worth of FedEx Discount Shipping Coupons.
"We are proud to partner with Hang Seng Bank as a category-exclusive partner for its "IBS" Account to contribute to the businesses in Hong Kong. This new incentive demonstrates not only our commitment to serving our customers, but also our confidence in Hong Kong as a key hub for conducting business in Asia Pacific," said Luiz Tung, Managing Director, Hong Kong and Macau, FedEx Express Corporation.
"FedEx has been committed to enhancing its services to help local businesses grasp opportunities. After entering into agreements with TradePort Hong Kong and Sun Logistics in June, to expand our logistics distribution centers and enhance our regional and local distribution capabilities, we have also been awarded 13 additional frequencies in and out of Hong Kong by the United States Department of Transportation, allowing us to expand the capacity of our AsiaOne network and create more links between our AsiaOne network and the FedEx EuroOne„¥ network," Mr. Tung added.
Being the U.S. carrier with the greatest number of flights flying in and out of Hong Kong, FedEx operates its own fleet to ensure time-definite deliveries of all shipments. Starting from September 30, 2003, FedEx will add six more flights to Subic Bay to offer better service for customers. A seventh frequency between Hong Kong and Subic Bay will also be provided in late October 2003. In addition, FedEx customers will also enjoy more extensive service between Asia and Europe starting from late October, with six additional flights between Hong Kong and the FedEx European hub at Charles DeGaulle Airport in Paris, one of which will be routed via Mumbai, India.
