BANGKOK, 20 January 2004 - FedEx Express (FedEx), the world's largest express transportation company is living up to its reputation as the courier that delivers on time, every time, in its capacity as the chosen carrier for the 2004 Bangkok International Film Festival, which runs from 22 January to 02 February 2004.
"FedEx is very proud of its role as the official express courier for the 2004 Bangkok International Film Festival organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand. Now a much-anticipated annual event, the festival has already established itself as a firm favourite with Thailand's film aficionados. This year, FedEx is dedicating its air express network to deliver more than 200 packages, including 150 films destined for the festival," said Clifton Chua, Managing Director, FedEx Thailand, Philippines and Indochina.
FedEx, the leading express delivery service to Asia has been using its dedicated all-cargo network to bring individual film reels, each weighing between 25-40 kgs, from some 40 countries since December 2003. It's an operation for which FedEx uses the carrier's experience and customs clearance expertise to deliver its entrusted packages on time, every time, ensuring every reel is available when required for the 12-day festival.
"FedEx has been entrusted by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the organiser of the festival, with all inbound and outbound shipping services to facilitate the movement of the films. Thanks to the speed and reliability of the FedEx air network, as well as our Express Brokerage system, we are able to guarantee the organisers, sponsors and fans that all films and equipment will reach Bangkok safely and clear customs accurately and on time," said Mr. Chua.
