Business Address
A working address such as an office.
Contrasting Ink
Ink which shows up very clearly against the fabric it is printed
on.
e.g. white ink on black colored fabric.
Country of Origin Label
A fabric label showing the country of manufacture of the item. It
usually carries the words "MADE IN", e.g. 'Made in Hong Kong'.
Declared Value For Customs
The true selling price or replacement cost of the merchandise.
Employer's Identification
Number
A unique number assigned by the U.S. Government to identify a particular
U.S. organization.
Export Notification III
A document used for export of marked sample shipment with F.O.B.
value at US$800 or less to the U.S.
Export Notification IV
A document used for the export of mutilated samples to the U.S.
Fabric Content Label
A label which sewn onto the garment to show what the garment is
made of e.g. 60% Cotton 40% Polyester.
Formal Entry
A US customs clearance formality for shipments with value at over
US$ 2000. Marked Samples valued at over US$ 800 are also subject
to formal entry.
Indelible Ink
Permanent ink which cannot be washed out or removed from a garment
without damaging the garment and making it unsaleable.
Manufactured Value
The total dollar amount of the product cost, not the price it is
intended to be sold.
Marked Sample
Textile items marked or labeled in accordance with the specific
guidelines.
Multiple Country Declaration
This is used when the textile products are subject to manufacturing
and/or incorporated materials originating in more than one foreign
country.
Mutilated Sample
A garment which has been either stamped or cut on the main body
outside of the garment. These mutilations should make the garment
completely unsaleable.
Negative Declaration
This is used for textile products not subject to section 204 of
the Agricultural Act of 1956, as amended (7 U.S.C. 1854).
Non-Quota Charge Statement
This is used when items are not subject to quota restraints.
Permanently Affixed
Something which cannot be removed without damaging the item. For
instance, a label sewn in by machine along all four sides would
be regarded as permanently affixed to a garment.
Quota Charge Statement
Whether you have quotas automatically allocated to you or not, you
must provide a 'QUOTA CHARGE STATEMENT'. This indicates the taxable
value of your goods.
Quotas
A certain number or value of specific goods which are allowed into
the U.S. in one year.
Residential Address
A home address where someone lives.
Single Country Declaration
This is used when textile products are wholly the product or manufacture
of a single country.
Single Informal Entry
A US Customs clearence formality for shipment value up to US$2000
except for certain textile articles.
Social Security Number
A unique identification number assigned by the U.S. Government to
a U.S. citizen or resident alien.
Window Quota
A system operated by the Trade and Industry Department, allocating
specific amount of quantity to tailored establishments for shipping
made-to-measure suits made of wool, man-made fibre, silk blend and
other vegetable fibre to the U.S.
