Essential Information

1. The words 'Marked Samples - Not for Resale' must be clearly printed on both the FedEx Air Waybill and Commercial Invoice.

2. The Free on Board (F.O.B.) value of each consignment should not exceed US$800.

3. If Export Notification III is used to cover the export, the F.O.B. value is limited to US$800.

4. Each consignment must be licensed, packed and invoiced separately.

5. Each consignment must not be exported on the same carrier with another consignment of commercial sample licensed under same arrangement to the same US importer on the same day.

6. The US importer's Employer's Identification Number (EIN) should be printed clearly on both the FedEx Air Waybill and Commercial Invoice to avoid delays in customs clearance.

7. The sample must be marked with 'SAMPLE' marking in accordance with the following manner.

8. Samples that are transparent, incapable of being marked or the marking of such will damage or render the sample unsuitable for use as a trade sample can be labeled. Examples such as brief, bikinis, hosiery and lightweight sheer.

Followings are examples of how different types of textile items can be treated:

1. The word 'SAMPLE' in block letters must be at least 26mm in height and 153mm in length. The marking must be in permanent ink and in contrasting color to the sample. The marking must be marked on the inside/back of the sample and near to the Country of Origin label and must be physically placed on the item itself. See Picture 9.

OR

2. A fabric label not smaller than 64mm x 13mm containing the words 'SAMPLE - NOT FOR RESALE' must be permanently sewn onto the sample. The label must be sewn close to but not over the Country of Origin label. See Picture 10.
