Shipping Avian/Poultry products to US and Europe

As a result of growing concerns over Avian/Poultry Flu, US import regulations now prohibit the import of ALL eggs and egg products, whether fresh, cooked, or preserved, from Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, the People's Republic of China, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam.

Commercial shippers who are not in the above listed countries must first obtain the normal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 12-digit Prior Notice Confirmation (PNC) number to ship foodstuff that contains ingredients of animal origin such as eggs. In addition, you also need to obtain APHIS authorization.

To obtain an APHIS license via email, please log on to www.aphis.usda.gov, select the "Apply Online for Import Authorization" option from the drop-down menu, click "Continue with online application" at the bottom and then choose "Animal Product" as the permit type. Once you have received your permit, please remember to include a copy and all other information APHIS has specified with your shipment.

Mooncakes to US

If you are commercial shippers and plan to ship mooncakes containing egg yolk to the US for Mid-Autumn Festival, you must comply with the regulations. Please make sure that your country is not listed in the prohibited countries and then obtain the 12-digit FDA Prior Notice Confirmation (PNC) number. In addition, you need to obtain the APHIS authorization at www.aphis.usda.gov.

APHIS requirements further state that all mooncakes must be cooked at a specific temperature for a minimum amount of time. Consequently, shippers must be able to confirm that their cakes are cooked and do not need to be temperature-controlled.

For Individual shippers who want to ship mooncakes as personal gifts to addresses in the US, please specify "FS" (Food Shipment) on the air waybill and commercial invoice. In the commodity description part of your shipping document, please include "fully cooked mooncake with/without egg yolk" and "gift". For such shipments, both the shipper and recipient must be an individual person and not a company.

Mooncakes to Europe

If you are planning on shipping personal gifts of foodstuffs containing meat and poultry to EUROPE, please be reminded that several European countries prohibit such shipments. Please call our Customer Service team for advice in order to avoid disappointment.
