When you need to get a fast race car across the Atlantic, you need a fast, reliable shipping company to move it.

Thanks to its experience in transporting delicate and valuable items, and its fast and reliable service, FedEx was selected by the Champ Car World Series as the transportation company for shipping race vehicles and support materials from the U.S. to the Netherlands.

“FedEx Express is key to helping us to bring the Champ Car World Series to
Europe”, said Bart Rietbergen, organizer of the two races. “The Champ Car World Series is a ‘mega’ event, which is why we asked the largest express company in the world to carry all Champ Car World Series freight to Europe. In total, FedEx will transport 28 race cars, 2 pace cars, 3 security cars, approximately 1,000 tires and more than 55 tons of other materials for race day including tools, spare parts, overalls, helmets, fuel installations and engines”.

Gary Molinari, managing director of Aircraft Charter Programs for FedEx Express, said, “We appreciate the trust the Champ Car World Series organisation has in us. We have previously transported their series to Europe, Australia and Japan, and we welcome the chance to support the race in the Netherlands and Belgium.”

“FedEx has a long history in carrying highly specialized or unique cargo. In 2006, FedEx transported 90 tons of Titanic artifacts from Italy to the United States for an exhibition, and have previously carried many other items, including a communication satellite to China, penguins to the New Orleans Zoo, giant panda bears to Memphis and white tigers to the Bangkok Zoo” continued Mr. Molinari.
