FedEx EconomyTM

The fuel surcharge percentage for FedEx EconomyTM will be subject to monthly adjustment based on a rounded average of the diesel price (diesel price per Euro/Litre) of the European Commission, Department of Transport & Energy.

FedEx EconomyTM Fuel Surcharge is set at 30% effective October 03, 2011. The surcharge percentage will be reflected on your FedEx invoice. Information on the fuel surcharge for each month, if changed, will be available approximately two weeks before the surcharge is applicable.

Fuel surcharge percentages and amounts, associated trigger points and methods of calculation are subject to change without notice. See Section 6 of the Federal Express Conditions of Carriage. If the Fuel Surcharge rises above the maximum value or there are changes to the trigger points, the above tables will be updated.

FedEx Priority OvernightTM (PO) and FedEx Standard OvernightTM (SO)

The fuel surcharge percentage is subject to monthly adjustment based on a rounded average of the U.S. Gulf Coast (USGC) spot price for a gallon of kerosene- type jet fuel.

Note that the US Department of Energy (EIA) has discontinued its publication of the Rotterdam (ARA) spot price for a gallon of kerosene- type jet fuel. Therefore, as of December 6th, 2010, FedEx will use the USGC (U.S. Gulf Coast Kerosene-Type Jet Fuel Spot Price) published by the EIA.

Fuel Surcharge Updates

Changes to the FedEx Express - Europe, Middle East, India and Africa Division fuel surcharge are applied effective the first Monday of each month. The surcharge percentage will be reflected on your FedEx invoice. Information on the fuel surcharge for each month will be available approximately two weeks before the surcharge is applicable.

  • For FedEx Express, see the USGC index for the spot price per gallon of kerosene-type jet fuel.
  • The prices in these indexes are published by the U.S. Department of Energy and FedEx is not responsible for the information provided.
  • There is a two-month lag between the fuel price index and the fuel surcharge. For example, the fuel surcharge for December 2010 is based on the October 2010 average spot price of fuel.
