Worldwide Customs and Regulatory Updates
New Requirement for Prior Notice of Imported Food Shipments into the U.S.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) now requires additional information to be provided in the Prior Notice (PN) for your food items imported into the US. The Interim Final Rule took effect on July 3, 2011, while the effective date is September 6, 2011.
When submitting PN for imported food, including food for animals, customers will need to know if the food item has been refused entry by any country and provide the country name(s).
