Notice on Revision of Post-Payment Clearance of Express Shipments

Dear valued customers,

"Post-Payment Clearance", which took effect as of March 1, 2003, in accordance with Customs Notification 2003-1 (dated January 22, 2003), "Notifications Pertaining to Express Shipment Clearance Process", will be revised effective November 1, 2003 as follows;

1. Post-Payment Clearance Process
Under Post-Payment Clearance process, your shipments will be cleared first, followed by your Duty/Tax payment directly to Customs within 15 days grace period.

2. Applicability
Express shipments with Declared Value for Customs between US$60 ~ US$ 3,000.
(May not apply to items such as personal gifts and specially designated commodities by Customs)

3. Duty/Tax Payment Procedures
A Payment Notification slip will be delivered to you together with your packages. You are required to make a direct payment to the designated Customs banks or through internet banking procedures listed below. Please note that payment must be made to Customs within a 15 days' grace period from the date of payment notification. Please fax us at 032-744-6170~5 your proof of payment such as paid receipt including AWB number, telephone number, fax number, and name of contact person, and we will fax duty/tax VAT receipt to you.

* Internet Banking Procedures

  • Shinhan, Woehwan, Busan, Hanmi, Hana bank: Public Impose Duties & Taxes ->Customs -> Import Declaration number
  • Kookmin Bank : Public Impose Duties & Taxes -> Customs ->Outstanding Balance -> Import Declaration number
  • Woori Bank : Public Impose Duties & Taxes -> Customs Duty -> Import Declaration number
  • Choheung Bank : Public Duties & Taxes -> Import Duty -> Import Declaration number
  • Ki-up Bank : Public Duties & Taxes -> National Treasury -> Customs Duty -> Import Declaration number
  • Jeil Bank : Money Transfer -> Remittance -> Customs -> Import Declaration number

Should payment NOT be made within the given time frame, you may be placed on a disadvantageous Customs Management List. In addition, please keep in mind that you will be invoiced a surcharge of late payment (3,340 Won or 2% of Duty/Tax due, whichever is greater).
