Printable Version Lower Declared Customs Value set for shipments to Russia

Regulations which came into effect on 12th February permit the duty-free imports of a shipment or shipments into the Russian Federation with a total customs value which must not exceed 5,000 Roubles (approximately $140 at current exchange rates).

Shipments with declared manifest customs totals which exceed this value will be held at FedEx gateways and returned to their consigners. Shipments that have already arrived and are revalued by Russian Customs will also be returned to their consigners.

Shipment(s) made to a single consignee during the course of a single week with a value exceeding 5,000 Roubles (even if the value of each individual shipment is less than this amount) are subject to payment of all duties and taxes on the combined total.

FedEx customers should note that the customs value equals the value of the commodity plus related transportation charges. The latter are currently calculated by Russian Customs at $3 per kilo of weight.
