Worldwide Customs & Regulatory Updates
July, 2003 INDONESIA: New Indonesian Custom Regulation on Imports
Indonesian Customs has released new regulation addressed to importing to Indonesia.
Importers are now required to register their import license in order to acquire Importer Registration Certificate - also known as SRP/NAR - in Indonesian terms. All imported shipments cleared under formal-entry mode, will need SRP/NAR to be custom-cleared in Indonesia. As most of the importers have not registered, clearance cycle will be impacted - the release time will depend upon how fast the importer/consignee is able to acquire the registration (SRP/NAR) from Customs Office. Shipments cleared under express-consolidated clearance will not be affected.
