2005 Press Releases
JOHOR BAHRU – 25 January 2005 - FedEx Express (FedEx), the world’s largest express transportation company, celebrated the expansion of services to customers in the southern state of Johor, and the opening of its new World Service Centre in Muar.
With the recent launch of guaranteed next day delivery for shipments into Johor Bahru, and same day uplift on a dedicated FedEx flight, FedEx continues to improve the delivery standards for businesses in Johor, by expanding its geographic coverage across the state, providing a faster and more reliable service to customers.
This investment in FedEx’s services follows the opening of an upgraded station and launch of the “JB-Singapore Export Link” in October 2003, which allowed for faster access to the FedEx network or all-cargo aircraft through Singapore.
With the increase in delivery areas, shipments will be delivered to Johor Bahru by the next day, with same day uplift, joining Kuala Lumpur and Penang as the third guaranteed next-day delivery point in FedEx’s AsiaOne® network.
“FedEx recognises that business success can depend on your speed to market, and in response to customer demand, FedEx has increased our services to businesses of all sizes across Johor, with delivery up to one day earlier, resulting in faster access to global markets” said Lily Tay, Managing Director for FedEx Malaysia.
Service improvements have been made in central and northern Johor to meet customer demand, resulting in significant increases in and access to FedEx services, for to individuals and businesses across the state.
“The expansion marks an ongoing commitment by FedEx to ensure that our customers remain competitive, no matter where they may be located. Expanding our reach across Johor Bahru and providing the same, reliable service available to our customers in areas such as Kuala Lumpur and Penang is a vital component in our commitment to the Malaysian market as a whole,” continued Ms. Tay.
FedEx AsiaOne® is a comprehensive intra-Asia network providing overnight delivery services among 20 major cities in Asia and linking these cities to over 220 countries and territories in the FedEx global network.
