Out of Delivery/Pick-up Area Surcharge
FedEx Express international shipments delivered to or picked up from remote and less-accessible locations are charged an out-of-delivery-area or out-of-pickup-area surcharge. Effective January 18, 2016, a surcharge for out-of-delivery-area and out-of-pickup-area will be implemented for pick-ups and deliveries in selected areas of West Malaysia. A list of postal codes and cities where these surcharges apply is available here.
Shipments to Vessels and Ships
This applies to shipments that fall under Malaysia Customs Special Provision tariff 9800.00.700. Duty and tax free entry may be allowed subject to customs assessment officer’s approval. Please click here for more information.
Free Commercial Zone Declaration for Shipments with Formal Entry into and out of Malaysia
Non-document shipments with formal entry into and out of Malaysia’s Free Commercial Zones (FCZ) at the KL International Airport and Penang International Airport will be charged for FCZ declaration. The FCZ charge applies to non-document shipments on a per air waybill basis for both inbound customs-cleared shipments as well as shipments to be exported out of Malaysia. Please click here for more information.
A surcharge applies to any piece, skid, or pallet of a freight shipment that is non-stackable, which means the piece, skid, or pallet cannot be stacked vertically in a safe and secure manner. A pallet or skid is defined as non-stackable if the customer has designated it as such with a sticker, if it has cones or hats on the top, or if it has an obtuse shape.
Applicable Services: International Express Freight Services (IPF, IEF).
Third Party Billing Surcharge
Effective January 22, 2018, a Third Party Billing Surcharge will apply to shipments that are billed to a third party. The surcharge will be charged to the third-party payer. The Third Party Billing Surcharge applies when an account unrelated to the shipper, as solely determined by FedEx, is billed as a third party for the shipment. Please see the online Standard Conditions of Carriage for the definition of a Bill Third Party shipment.
