Printable Version Easier to Import from Asia
FedEx has improved its service in Asia, making it easier for you to import from Japan and China. In Japan, FedEx is opening five new stations this year. Four new facilities have already opened – in Sendai, Okayama, Kyoto and Kameyama – with a fifth, in Shiga, due to open by May.
For example, with the opening of our new Sendai station, FedEx can reduce delivery times by up to one business day*. You may wish to advise your shippers in Japan of this reduction in transit times.
We have made it easier to import from China too. From 10 March this year, you are no longer required to state the shipper’s account number on the International Air Waybill when billing a consignee or a third party outside China. This applies to shipments up to 50kg for business use only. It should speed-up the departure of your shipment as you will not need to wait for your origin counterpart to provide you with their FedEx Account number.
We hope that you will benefit from these service enhancements. FedEx will continue to make it easier for you to do business in Asia.
