Starting September 1, 2008, FedEx has introduced a new westbound trans-Atlantic flight from Europe to America’s Atlantic Seaboard. FedEx now offers the broadest coverage for next-business-day service from Europe to the East Coast of the United States.

FedEx has upgraded its next-business-day delivery service from Europe to major U.S. East Coast cities. Customers who had two-business-day service can now reach more than 3,500 zip codes in key markets across the East Coast overnight by 3.00 p.m. the next day. Customers already enjoying next-business-day delivery service to these markets now benefit from later pick-up times of up to six hours with next-day delivery by 3.00 p.m.

Destination Washington D.C., New York City, Newark, Philadelphia, Boston and Baltimore, this new service will be available for all your shipments up to 68kg per package and also for heavyweight or bulky shipments depending on your origin location and zip code. Which means FedEx is the only carrier to offer standard next-business-day heavyweight freight service to the Eastern United States.

“The European Union and the U.S. have the largest bilateral trade relationship in the world,” said Robert W. Elliott, President, FedEx Express, Europe, Middle East, Indian subcontinent and Africa. “FedEx Express already provides faster access to more markets with next-business-day delivery to the U.S. by 10:30 a.m. With this service enhancement, we will deliver a superior experience and added value to European customers with a standard cut-off of up to six hours later, and delivery into key East Coast markets the next business day.”

To enjoy the benefits of our new East Coast Special, you are not required to take any action. No selection on the air waybill and no specific entry field on fedex.com will be necessary. Your shipment will receive an automatic upgrade ensuring the fastest possible transit time — at no additional cost — when the courier makes the pick-up.
