A special book has completed a special journey, connecting SOS Children’s Villages children around the world.  It’s a journey that has lasted one year, during which FedEx has transported an album book between twelve SOS Children’s Villages in nine countries.

SOS Children’s Villages is a wonderful charity association dedicated to helping improve the lives of orphaned, mistreated and homeless children. The book is filled with a collection of their own contributions including poems, pictures and stories.  It gave the children a chance to communicate with one another about what they are doing and achieving.

The book travelled with FedEx to destinations in Germany, Argentina, the USA, China, India, France, Poland, the Czech Republic and Austria, before eventually returning to its starting point in Munich.

FedEx has supported SOS Children’s Villages since 2005. “We are aware of our social responsibility, and at FedEx, we like to use our expertise for a good cause,” says Bernhard Schloemer, Managing Director Operations, Central and Eastern Europe at FedEx.

FedEx also donated a total of 114,600 euros to the charity organisation, which will be used to help fund future campaigns for children. To mark the presentation of the book to SOS Children’s Villages, FedEx organised a party for around 40 children from the SOS Children’s Village Ammersee, other related SOS Children’s Villages outlets, FedEx customers, employees and their families at the Munich Airport (in total approx. 100 people).
